Gorton Studio is Europe’s original prosthetics training facility with direct links to the film industry. Founded in 2003, it was the first educational studio to specialise solely in screen prosthetics and has led the way in teaching it ever since.
We offer prescribed and bespoke courses for beginners, professionals and teachers, all of which are inherently ‘industry relevant’. They give genuine value for money and de-mystify a subject that can be prone to misrepresentation in the education arena.
The Studio is directed by internationally acclaimed, multi-award winning prosthetics artist Neill Gorton, who also owns Millennium FX, one of the UK’s largest and busiest FX companies. Millennium’s workshops are adjacent to Gorton Studio, providing a live industry context for study where students can access the company’s crew and resources, watch jobs develop and gain valuable industry insight. We also work closely with further and higher education providers to ensure their courses reflect current industry practice.
Each of our courses is devised by Neill using his unrivalled technical skills and vast industry knowledge gathered over a 24 year career. Operating at the forefront of the business, he is well known for pioneering new materials and techniques and for his practical, generous approach to sharing his knowledge. This is reflected in all our courses which are highly contemporary in content, focused on delivering the specific skills required to work in screen prosthetics today and are taught by current, senior industry professionals who teach alongside working on film and television jobs.
You can also learn from home with Neill’s step-by-step DVD tutorials, which are a tour de force of the subject packed with information, intricate demonstrations and his own personal tips and tricks.
